A band of horses was spotted in Carson City Friday morning, enjoying the sunshine, eating some plants, and rolling in the snow.
The horses stayed around that area of Highway 50 and College Parkway for most of the morning while several people pulled over to take pictures and get a better look at the animals. While they may look harmless, Sheriff Ken Furlong said people need to use caution and not approach the animals.
“People should stay away from them,” Furlong said. “People need to pay attention because they pose a hazard with traffic, but you also shouldn’t approach them. Just like deer or coyotes, they are in our community and people should steer clear of them. If anyone has any problems, they should contact the Sheriff’s Office.”
