Private services will be held for Kevin Ray, longtime project coordinator for the V&T Railroad Commission.
Ray, 56, died last week after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Bob Robinson, Ray’s significant other for 26 years, said Ray died peacefully at their house.
He said in addition to working to re-establish the historic V&T Railroad, Ray was manager of the Carson Mall on south Carson Street until December when his health forced him to leave the position.
“One of his and my dreams was to resurrect the (fair) here in the Capital,” he said. “He was very instrumental in getting that started.”
