Eagle Valley’s seventh-grade volleyball team is now 5-0 after wins against Carson Middle School, Alder Creek and Pau Wa Lu.
EV knocked off Carson Middle, 25-8 and 25-22, beat Alder Creek 25-13 and 25-11, and topped PWL 25-22 and 25-8.
Abby Lemburg led the way against CMS with 14 service points, including nine aces, and two digs. Lilly Ralla added eight service points and one dig, Raymie Brooks added five service points, including four aces, and Caydee Farnworth had five service points, a kill and a dig. Lauren Hawkins added three aces and Kedre Luschar had two digs.
EV served well against Alder Creek, as Lemburg had nine aces, Brooks five and Madison Rabideau four. Abby Golik had an ace and a kill. Hawkins had three aces and a kill against PWL, Golik added three kills, Farnworth had two kills and two digs, Lemburg had eight assists, and Brooks had four aces, four assists and a kill.
Carson bowlers roll along
The Senators knocked off North Valleys 35-10 last week. Carson hosts Spanish Springs Jan. 30 at 1 p.m.
Luis Celedan led the way with a 225-627. Matt Liddell had a 217-626 and Matt Hinton added a 224-616. Sylar Belchar (585), Dustin Floyd (571), Tyler Lethcoe (549), Ray Ceragoli (533), Chris Baird (527) and Conner Bell (521 also bowled well.
Studley stands out
Silver State Gymnastics Academy’s Danica Studley won first place all-around in the Level 3 Senior Division at the Flips Invitational. Studley was second on bars and first on beam and floor.
Brooklyn Gundy won first on bars at the same level.
In Level 3 Senior B competition, Chloe Byrne was third on vault, first on beam and second on floor en route to a second-place all-around finish. At Level 6, Elle Liebendorfer was third on vault and placed second in all-around.
CHS sping sports sign-ups
Signups for spring sports will be held Thursday, Feb. 4, 5-6:30 p.m., in the library. Returning athletes from this school year can pick up and complete a returning athletes’ form. New athletes need to complete and print an online sports packet located on the CHS website at www.carsonhigh.com under the Athletes tab. All athletes must be cleared by the library and student finance. Physicals are required freshmen and junior years and must accompany the sports packet. The Carson City School Based Health Center is available so athletes can get their physicals there, and they offer sliding scale, as well as take Medicaid and NV Checkup. Little League registration
Little League baseball is underway from 8 a.m. to noon Jan. 30 and Feb. 6 in Carson City Little League’s indoor facility at Governors Field.
The league is open to ages 4-18 who live in or attend school in Carson City. Players must be at least 4 years old as of Aug. 31 of this year.
An early bird discount — $80 for the first child and $65 for siblings — is being offered to anyone signing up in person at either of the two registration events. On Feb. 7, the fee for the first child goes up to $90.

Empire looking for senior golfers
Memberships are now available for Empire Ranch Senior Men’s Club.
Golfers must be 55 or over to join. There are 34 weekly events with eight scheduled at away courses. The first tournament is scheduled for March 9. All tournaments are separated into flights and handicapped, giving all golfers a chance to win. Club dues are $50 which includes a 2016 NNGA membership.

Super Bowl tourney, party
Empire Ranch is hosting a Super Bowl golf/party on Feb. 7.
The tournament will start at 10 a.m., and the $35 entry fee includes golf, cart, range balls and food. The menu includes Luis’ famous ribs, fried chicken, chicken wings, salad bar, soup of the day and dessert. If you just want to attend the party, the cost is $10.
