Carson City residents can look forward to some snow this weekend.
The National Weather Service said during the day Friday, residents can expect high winds — from 20-30 miles per hour with gusts up to 50 miles per hour.
Zach Tolby, meteorologist with the Reno National Weather Service said it will start as rain but turn to snow Saturday during the day. Carson City is expected to have rising snow levels, though accumulation is unknown.
A possible second wave of snow may come through Sunday with accumulation in the valley, though it’s not certain at this point.
Temperatures are expected to be warm Friday, possibly reaching up to 60 degrees, though the wind chill will make it seem colder. Temperatures are expected to drop to the upper 30s Friday night and reach back up to 45 degrees early Saturday. Tolby said temperatures will drop throughout Saturday with those snow showers coming in.
Travel impacts are anticipated through the Sierra Mountains.
