Austin’s House will celebrate the atmosphere of Fat Tuesday on New Orleans’s Bourbon Street at its 8th annual Cowboy Mardi Gras fundraiser from 6 to 10 p.m. Feb. 26 at the Carson Valley Inn in Minden.

Attendees are invited to put on their jeans and cowboy hats to enjoy an evening of food, music, dancing, games, raffle prizes, and a silent auction.

The party starts at 6 p.m. with a cocktail hour. Then attendees will feast on a western barbecue buffet dinner of sirloin beef, smoky pork ribs and campfire-fried chicken with all the trimmings. Beer, wine and cocktails will be available.

After dinner, the party will hit full stride with music, dancing and games. The raffle and silent auction feature prizes donated from local businesses.

The event also offers a grand prize drawing for a Disneyland vacation package valued at $1,400. The package includes four Disneyland Resort Park Hopper tickets worth $150 each to visit both Disneyland Park and the Disney California Adventure Park plus two round-trip tickets on Southwest Airlines to any city they service valued at $800. The winner of the grand prize doesn’t need to be present at the fundraiser. Disneyland grand prize tickets cost $20 each from Austin’s House or any of its Board of Directors members.

Admission to the fundraiser costs $60 per person. Tables that seat 10 are available for $600.

Tickets are limited. To buy one, call Austin’s House at 775-267-6711. Visa and Master Card are accepted.

Carson City Toyota-Scion and Carson Valley Medical Center are sponsoring this year’s celebration.
