Gov. Brian Sandoval is looking for a few good men — or women — to serve on a long list of boards and commissions.
He said he must appoint thousands of people to serve on more than 200 such boards and commissions, councils and task forces.
“Nevada’s boards and commissions are a critical component to the process of establishing and implementing regulations and making policy recommendations,” he said.
The lack of volunteers for those posts is a chronic issue for every administration through the years.
Current vacancies include one seat on the State Board of Education created by the resignation of Allison Serafin. The appointee will fill that post until a newly elected member will take it in January 2017.
But there are also vacancies on the Taxicab Authority, the Ethics Commission, Tax Commission, and veterans Cemetery Advisory Committee.
