Senior Follies returning to Carson City Community Center July 15-17

The Senior Follies are coming!

The Senior Follies are great live shows that are performed at the Carson City Community Center, in the Bob Boldrick Theater, every year.

The cast are all seniors who love to entertain people. Many of them were professional entertainers before they retired, and they love doing what they do best. The talent is still there, and the show can be a great encouragement for younger people to keep on using their unique talents. If you’re a senior or about to become one, you realize even though you’re old or getting there, your hips can still swing, your feet can still tap, your voice is still good, and you can be funny. There. That should take a load off of you.

When people go to the Follies they feel happy, and when they leave at the end of the show they feel really good. So many people want to see the follies the number of performances has increased from three to four to make sure everybody gets a chance to see the show. Don’t pass up an opportunity like this. Go and enjoy.

To give you another reason to enjoy the Follies, remember all proceeds benefit the Carson City Senior Meals Programs. It makes you feel good just for doing something for the people you live near.

It’s exciting to see the costumes, hear the singing, watch groups dance in perfect sync, as well as wondering where did they get those jokes.

Performances are at 7 p.m. July 15 and 16; and 1 p.m. July 16 and 17.

Tickets are $15 for general admission and $10 for seniors, students and military personnel. Children 12 and under are free.

Tickets can be purchased at the Carson City Senior Citizens Center from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays, or one hour before the performance.

The Follies are an inspiration for all that take the time to sit back and enjoy the show. There’s no comparison between a movie and a real show. It’s fun to watch the faces of the actors as they say their lines and even goof them up occasionally. It’s neat when the people on the stage talk with people in the audience. It has to be live for that to happen.

So come on down to the Community Center and enjoy an afternoon or evening with the seniors who have worked hard to show you just what they can do. Who would have ever thought it?
