Business briefly: Brummer honored as No. 2 RE/MAX agent

Mary Jo Brummer of RE/MAX Realty Affiliates ranked as the No. 2 Realtor in the State of Nevada for Individual Sales for the month of May.

Brummer has been working in the real estate industry for more than 19 years and has extensive experience in residential sales, new home sales, distressed properties and commercial sales. Among Brummer’s list of achievements, she has earned the RE/MAX Lifetime Achievement, Chairman’s Club, Hall of Fame and Platinum Club Awards. She has earned the Certified Residential Sales and the Certified Distressed Property Expert designations.

Applebee’s raising funds for childhood cancer research

For the 11th year, Applebee’s is supporting Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, a national charity that funds childhood cancer research.

As part of the brand’s broader Applebee’s Serves program, participating restaurants will raise funds through July in support of the foundation. Fundraising efforts, which vary by participating restaurant, include donating a portion of each lemonade sale to ALSF. Applebee’s guests may also have an opportunity to donate to ALSF through the purchase of a paper lemon in support of childhood cancer research, and some participating restaurants will be hosting a variety of events, including lemonade stands, golf tournaments, donation nights and more.

More than 1,000 Applebee’s restaurants nationwide will work toward raising $7 million total in 2016. Last year Applebee’s raised $1.1 million to fight childhood cancer, and have generated almost $6 million since the partnership began in 2005.
