Donald E. Puck of Sparks, NV, passed away June 26 and is survived by his wife Frances of thirty-five years, her children Gregory (Catherine), Kathleen, (Patrick) and four grandchildren.Donald, born in Sebastapol, CA to Emerson and June Puck, spent his working life in California, retiring to Dayton, NV in 1998, and then to Sparks in 2015. Donald graduated from Santa Rosa High School where he excelled in science and became known for his ballroom dancing. He enlisted in

the Air Force working on the B-47 Bomber program at March Air Force Base. He spent thirty-plus years in the movie industry as a Prop Maker for the Special Effects department for films such as Tora Tora Tora, Towering Inferno, The Deep, Mel Brooks’ Silent Movie, Ghostbusters, The Goonies, Waterworld, and the 1997 version of Batman and Robin. Donald was a NASCAR fan, an automobile and motorcycle enthusiast, and an avid fisherman enjoying Convict Lake. Donald also volunteered his mechanical expertise to the Lyon County Maintenance Department. Mr. Puck will be cremated and a private family memorial service is planned.
