The following information applies to the period of July 18-24.
Work will continue on the Downtown Corridor improvement project on Carson Street. For details regarding traffic impacts, refer to the Cone Zone in the Nevada Appeal, or go to www.carsonproud.com. These sources are updated weekly throughout the duration of the project.
Overnight lane closures will take place on S. Carson Street between Fairview Drive and Overland Street from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. today through Friday. One lane in each direction will remain open, and business access will remain available.
Lane closures with traffic controls are planned at the following locations due to utility/road work:
E. Long Street between Roop Street and Marian Avenue from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on weekdays
Center Drive south of Clear Creek Avenue near Topsy Lane from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays
Chardonnay Drive from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday
N. Ormsby Boulevard between Winnie Lane and College Parkway from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays
Road closures are expected at the following locations due to utility/road work. Drivers are asked to follow detours:
Topsy Lane between Center Drive and U.S. 395 for all hours Monday through Sunday; local traffic only
Race Track Road between Bigelow and Schulz for all hours Monday through Sunday; local traffic only
Jeanell Drive between Russett Way and Michael Drive from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday
Anderson Street between Robinson and Caroline streets from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on weekdays
E. Fifth Street loop around the Korean War Memorial for all hours Monday through Sunday; parking is available to the south
Northbound U.S. 395 between Clear Creek and Snyder avenues is going to be reduced from three to two lanes until July 29.
Intermittent lane and ramp closures will continue through the fall on I-580 and Alternate U.S. 395 in Washoe Valley and on north Carson City due to roadway improvements.
Both directions of I-580 in southern Washoe Valley will be reduced to one lane from 7 p.m. Friday through 5 a.m. Monday this weekend and next for interstate repaving in the Lakeview area. The Eastlake Boulevard northbound on and off ramps will also periodically be closed as part of the weekend paving. Intermittent lane and ramp closures also will take place on weekdays on I-580 and Alternate U.S. 395 in Washoe Valley through the fall as roadway paving, striping and other improvements are finalized.
The following streets will have closures from 1 p.m. to midnight, unless otherwise noted, on Saturday, July 23, due to the 23rd Annual Taste of Downtown:
W. Telegraph Street from Carson to Nevada streets
E. Telegraph Street from Carson to Plaza streets
W. Proctor Street from Carson to Curry streets
W. Second Street from Carson to Curry streets
N. Curry Street from King to Spear streets
E. Proctor Street between Carson and Plaza streets from 10 a.m. to midnight
W. Musser Street between Carson and Nevada streets
