The deadline came and went Thursday and developers of a proposed development on Andersen Ranch didn’t submit its tentative map to the city for approval, according to the Carson City planning department.
Vintage at Kings Canyon is an over-55 community including assisted and independent living facilities, clubhouse and about 200 cottages and single-family houses.
The first phase would be built on about 20 acres of the ranch adjacent to Mountain Street.
The developer had planned to submit the planned unit development to the city by Thursday in order to make it onto the Planning Commission’s August 31 agenda, the first step in getting the PUD approved.
But the plan recently went through a second conceptual review with city departments and given an extensive list of requirements, some routine and some specific to the development.
At the time, Mike Draper, a spokesperson for the developer, said they were still reviewing the results of the conceptual review and weren’t committed to submitting plans by a certain date.
At the Planning Commission meeting Tuesday, Lee Plemel, community development director, said the commission should plan ahead for a big public turnout when the Vintage development does come before it.
Plemel suggested the commission hold that meeting in the Sierra Room of the Carson City Community Center, as usual and where it can be streamed live online, but then also broadcast to the Bob Boldrick Theater down the hall to accommodate all the people expected to attend to comment on it.
