Carson City road report for July 25-31

The following information applies to the period of July 25-31:

Work will continue on the Downtown Corridor improvement project on Carson Street. For details regarding traffic impacts, refer to the Cone Zone in the Nevada Appeal, or go to www.carsonproud.com. These sources are updated weekly throughout the duration of the project.

Roadway patching on Roop Street between Northridge Drive and Hot Springs Road will close that portion of Roop Street to southbound traffic from 6:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays. Northbound traffic will remain open. Detours will be marked for southbound traffic.

Overnight lane closures will take place on S. Carson Street between Fairview Drive and Overland Street from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday through Friday. One lane in each direction will remain open, and business access will remain available.

Lane closures with traffic controls are at the following locations due to utility/road work:

E. Long Street between Roop Street and Marian Avenue from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays

Center Drive south of Clear Creek Avenue near Topsy Lane from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays

N. Ormsby Boulevard between Winnie Lane and College Parkway from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays

W. Washington Street at the intersection of Saratoga Way from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Shouldering project on Arrowhead Drive from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday

Road closures expected at the following locations due to utility/road work. Detours will be in place:

Topsy Lane between Center Drive and U.S. 395 for all hours Monday through Sunday; local traffic only

Race Track Road between Bigelow and Schulz drives for all hours Monday through Sunday; local traffic only

Anderson Street between Robinson and Caroline streets from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays

Convair Drive from Arrowhead to Conestoga drives and at the intersection of Boeing Way from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. weekdays

Goni Road from Boeing Way to Kelvin Road from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. weekdays

E. Fifth Street loop around the Korean War Memorial for all hours Monday through Sunday; parking is available to the south of the park

The following closures are planned due to special events:

E. Ninth Street from Carson to Fall streets and Plaza Street from E. Eighth Street south to the Plaza Hotel parking lot from 3 to 9 p.m. Thursday, July 28

W. Ninth Street from Carson to Curry streets and South Curry Street from Eighth Street to 10th Street from 3 to 11 p.m. Friday, July 29

S. Curry Street between Second and Fourth streets from 9 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Saturday, July 30

Outside eastbound lane of College Parkway at Market Street from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 26

Sidewalk between I-580 and Research Way on the east of College Parkway from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 26
