This week is Bike to Work Week, the first of many events lined up this month to celebrate Bike Month in Carson City. The annual celebration has been delayed a month this year to coincide with the Epic Rides Off-Road mountain bike race, which is coming to the capital city June 17-19.

Anyone who rides their bike to work this week is eligible to earn the title for most miles ridden or most trips made. Participants can convince their coworkers to join their team and commute to work all week. Sign up at www.musclepowered.org.

Friday, June 10 is Bike to Work Day. Comma Coffee, 312 S. Carson St., and LA Bakery, 220 W. John St., will be providing free coffee to anyone commuting to work via bicycle.

Bike to Work Week festivities wrap up at 6 p.m. Saturday, June 11, with a celebration at the Brewery Arts Center. Winners of the Bike to Work Week Corporate Challenge will be announced, and prizes, including a cruiser bike, will be raffled off. The event also includes live music by Incendio, who’s continuing the Brewery Arts Center’s summer concert series.

Other biking events planned this month include the West Side Cruiser Ride at 6 p.m. June 15. Meet at 5:30 p.m. at the Brewery Arts Center to help city officials, tourism leaders and Gov. Brian Sandoval welcome the Epic Rides off-road mountain bike race to Carson City. The event includes a short ride down a section of Carson Street before a slow, winding cruise through west side streets.

The 2015 film “Turbo Kid” will be screened at a bike movie night hosted by the Brewery Arts Center at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, June 16. Movie trivia starts a half-hour before the movie.

A women’s mountain bike ride in Ash Canyon is planned at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 23. Meet at 5:30 p.m. at Foothill Road, just off Winnie Lane.

Blinky Man, a costumed night bike ride with lights, is rounding out Bike Month at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, June 25. The ride stops at Westside Pour House; Carson Cigar Company; The Feisty Goat and The Tap Shack. Meet at 6:30 p.m. at Jimmy G’s Cigar Bar. Admission is free; riders must be 21 or older.
