Jim Koch, 86 died May 19, 2016 at the Highland Manor in Fallon, Nevada. Jim was born May 8, 1930 in Bishop, California to William Nicholas and Ena Farrington Koch. He graduated from Bishop Union High School in 1947. He then graduated from Cal Poly University with a degree in Animal Husbandry.Jim, (cowboy) as some called him, enjoyed Rodeos, and raising his animals. He was involved in 4H as a leader for 20 years. He judged the live stock for 3 years in FFA.
Jim worked at the Toggery with his Dad. He also owned the Sierra Saddlery and Feed Store.He moved to Winnemucca, Nevada to be near family in 2007. He lived at the Highland Manor in Fallon for his last 6 years. Jim’s highlight in Fallon was going to the stock shows and sales. He enjoyed visiting with his many friends.Jim was preceded in death by his parents and Sister Frances Elaine Koch.Jim is survived by his sister, Jo Maverne (Howard), Niece, Linda Wilson (Glen), and nieces and nephews In Winnemucca. The family wants to thank all of you for your contributions. Jim’s friends are planning a Celebration of Life sometime in September in Bishop, California.“You are at peace with our Lord dear one, chasing those cows on your horse. You will be truly missed by your family and friends Jim.”
