Leona Olene (Mader) Porter, 74, of Carson City, Nevada, was received in the arms of her Lord and Savior after a short battle with pancreatic cancer, while surrounded by loved ones. Leona was born on Sept. 21, 1941, in Orange, CA. Throughout her life, she made friends wherever she went, including while traveling the world. She was a devout Catholic and loved to spend time with her family and friends dancing, bowling, and doing family history. She was a PTA
president and president of Parents Without Partners. She retired from Pacific Bell Phone Company in San Jose, CA. Leona was preceded in death by her Mother, Virginia (Wahl) Bacigalupi, and her father Leo Mader.She is survived by her five siblings; her children, Ronald Porter (Angie), Michael Porter, Dale Porter (Natalie), Elaine Moffatt (Keith), and Deanna Williams (Chris); her 21 grandchildren; her two great grandchildren; and her countless friends. There will be a vigil/rosary service and viewing Tuesday, June 14, at 6:00 pm and a Funeral Mass on Wednesday, June 15 at 10:30 am, both at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Carson City.
