Carson City health inspections

Carson City Health Department’s food-service inspections for June 9. All scores are on a 100-point scale, with points deducted depending on the severity of violations:

Dan Dan the Ice Cream Man, mobile food vehicle, scored 100 points.

Port of Subs, 1621 E. Highway 50, Suite B, scored 97 points. The interior walls of the ice machine needed to be cleaned. The hot water faucet handle on the employee hand wash sink was loose and not supplying hot water at full capacity.

Taco Bell, 4539 N. Carson St., scored 97 points. There was no certified food handler on duty, repeat violation.

Tomo Sushi & Grill, 135 Clearview Drive, Suite 124, scored 88 points. The dishwasher was missing chlorine residual from the final rinse cycle. Wire racks in the walk-in refrigerator and the top of the dishwasher were dirty. Most refrigerators and freezers needed to be cleaned. Chlorine residual was missing from the disinfectant bucket in the customer seating area. There were no disposable hand towels at the employee hand wash sink in the sushi preparation area. The baffles of the exhaust hood were dirty.

Little Caesar’s Pizza, 1820 E. William St., scored 84 points. The three-compartment sink was not set up to wash, rinse and sanitize equipment. There were no disinfectant buckets set up. The hot water faucet on the hand wash sink near the walk-in refrigerator was loose and needed to be replaced. There were no disposable paper hand towels at the employee hand wash sink. The dumpster lids were not closed. The ceiling tiles above the pizza preparation area were dirty. There was a buildup of mold on the wall above the three compartment sink. There was no certified food handler on duty. Last year’s food permit was posted.
