Francis “Al” Alvin Ellingwood, 81, born in Aromas, CA on September 15, 1934 passed away in Carson City, NV on May 18, 2016. A business owner, investor and entrepreneur. Al was well educated and enjoyed life. He was a pilot in the USAF during the Korean Conflict and it was at that time when he met and married Frances, his first wife. He and Frances established the Stage Coach Territories, Inc. Best known for the “Big Red Barn” in Aromas, CA. This became a gathering area for the sale of antiques and collectables. Venders from all over continue to sell their wares at the Big Red Barn. Al later met and married Lois. He and Lois enjoyed entertaining and being with people. During their marriage they lived in Puerto Vallarta and in Isleton, CA, on the Sacramento Delta. Lois brought to the relationship seven grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren who adore Al. After Lois’ death Al chose to move to Minden to enjoy the beauty of the Carson Valley. Al is survived by his niece Debra Dannenfelser, his brother Wayne Ellingwood, Lois’ daughter Kelly Sanders, grandchildren and numerous other nieces and nephews. Al was a kind man that wanted to help instill change in lives of individuals. He was known to give a hand up to single mothers and others struggling to make a life for themselves. Celebrate his life with us at 1:00p.m. on Sunday, June 26th, at eatle Highlands Clubhouse, 4150 Pheasant Dr. Carson City, NV.
