John Joseph Brownell

March 15, 1935 - May 16, 2016

John Joseph Brownell, March 15, 1935 to May 16, 2016, died before we were ready to let him go. His loving family, adopted family, and friends knew him as a passionate man who loved people, food and entertainment, which surrounded him while he ascended to heaven. John was a good, honest and hardworking man who wore many hats in his life: father, uncle, brother, husband, significant other, bridge partner and caretaker. He is preceded in death by his parents John and Cecile; brother, Thomas; niece and nephew, Francis and Tommy, and his long-term companion Fran. John is survived by his sister Gail; children John Howard, Ramona and Stephen; his adopted family Trudy, her children and grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, and so many others who loved him. A private service will be held in his honor. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to Unity at the Lake, PO Box 10742, South Lake Tahoe, CA 96158
