Robert Joel Storms Walker, age 92, passed away on June 27, 2016 at the Beehive Home in Fernley.He was born May 27, 1924 in Okemah, Oklahoma to Alfred Storms and Mary S. Pettit. and was a long time resident of Fallon. Robert was a retired Personnel Superintendent for Basic Corp. in Gabbs. He was very involved in the community having served in the Boy Scouts, the Lions Club, the Nye County School Board for 21 years. A PTA officer in Gabbs and as a museum host in
Fallon. He was also a life member of the VFW, and served on the BLM Wild Horse Advisory Board. Robert served his country in the Navy during World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a daughter, Deseree Walker. He is survived by his wife Shirley; daughters, Sheryl (Rod) Wakefield of Spring Creek, NV; Debbie (David) Currier of Sparks, NV; grandchildren, Alysha Carpenter, Robert (Wendy) Currier and Alan (Brandy) Wakefield; great grandchildren, Hagan Carpenter, Desiree Currier, Easton Currier, Landon Wakefield and Abigail Wakefield; nieces and nephews. Graveside services with military honors will be held on Wednesday, June 29th at 11:00am, at the Churchill County Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Home, Fallon, 775-423-2255.In lieu of flowers, donations to the Churchill County Museum, 1050 S.
