Legislature. An Act —The salary of the Governor of the State of Nevada from and after the first day of January 1867, shall be six thousand dollars per annum, payable quarterly. The salary of the Lieutenant Governor shall be three thousand dollars, payable monthly, as compensation as Warden of the State Prison.

Minimum wage raise. The House Labor Committee approved a bill that would raise the minimum wage stages from $1.25 an hour to $1.60 and extend coverage to 7 million more workers.

Sales tax surge. According to the Nevada Department of Taxation, sales surged 17.5 percent in January because of car and home-furnishing purchases.
