Rose (Rosie) Denton

May 12, 1927 - March 15, 2016

Rose (Rosie) Denton passed away on March 15, 2016 at the age of 88 in Carson City Nevada. She was born in Guardiaregia, Italy. Rose came to New York and entered through Ellis Island January of 1939 at the age of 12. Rose lived in Burbank, California and met her future husband, Donald Furm Denton. They were married on February 11, 1950 at Saint Finbars Catholic Church in Burbank California. A marriage lasting 58 years until the love of her life passed away in 2008. Rose and Don moved to Carson City Nevada in 1973. Rose drove a school bus for the Carson City School District. She started her own drapery shop called J&R Custom Draperies in 1979, still in operation, passed on to her daughter Janet Colonna. Rose was preceded in death by her parents Cosmo and Marie Vecchiarelli, husband Don, brothers Nick and Mario Vecchiarelli. Rose is survived by daughter, Mary Ann (Steve), son Jeff (Cathy), daughter Janet (Nick Sr.), all of Carson City Nevada. Daughter Judy (Lloyd) of Sparks, Nevada. Daughter Jeannette (Paul) of Carson City, Nevada. Grandchildren Theresa (Scott), Julie (Dan), Chuck (Amanda), Great Grandchildren Garrett, Jesse, Ricky, Emily Rose, Zoe and Charles. Grandchildren Donny (Jodi), Sarah (Walter), Jaime (Dustin), Great Grandchildren Ryder, Olivia, Sebastian, Mateo, Frankee Rae and Rocco. Grandchildren Nick Jr. (Tiffany), Luke, Angel (Logan), Great Grandchildren Gabe, Abby, Carmine, Olive, Tallulah and Sophia. Grandchildren Derek, Dustin and Great Grandchild Mason. Grandchildren Sheena, Mitchell (Fiancé Katie) Great Grandchild Hunter. Brother Lee (JoAnne) of Carson City, Nevada. Numerous nieces and nephews. Rose was an active member of St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church of Carson City, Nevada. Rose left behind a legacy of Love and Devotion to all family and friends. Her hospitable acts of a servant’s heart will be remembered forever in all our hearts. A viewing will be held at 5:00 PM with a Rosary to follow at 6:00 PM Friday March 18th 2016, Saint Teresa of Avila Catholic Church in the small chapel. 3000 N. Lompa Ln. Carson City, Nevada. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday March 19th, 2016 at Saint Teresa of Avila Catholic Church. Burial Service on Monday March 21st, 2016 10:00 AM at Lone Mountain Cemetery, Carson City, Nevada.
