Nevada Appeal at 150: Feb. 25, 1975: Douglas County gets new high school

Going up well ahead of schedule is the new $2.8 million Douglas County High School on State Route 88 just west of the Minden town limits. The structure is designed to house 1,000 students, allowing the present high school and junior high to be used as a middle school to relieve student population pressure in all Carson Valley schools. The building will include classrooms, dining commons, administration, fine arts and shop areas in addition to a gym.
