First Baptist sets Easter service

First Baptist Church, 1750 Mountain St. Carson City has scheduled a special Easter service.

First Baptist will hold its Easter Sunday Service at 10:45 a.m. Sunday, March 27. The service will feature the mini-drama “Nailing Hope Against the Wall” by Michelle Pitman. In the drama, a woman hangs a painting of the crucified Jesus on her living room wall to the ridicule of her husband, but many years later he comes to appreciate its value.

The service is free and open to the public.

Divine Mercy Sunday services planned

Father Anton Sommer will celebrate Catholic Mass for the Divine Mercy at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, April 3 at St. Mary’s of the Mountains, 111 S. E St., Virginia City.

The event includes a recitation of the Divine Mercy Chaplet and veneration of the Divine Mercy image.

Lutheran women to host spring craft fair

Vendors selling bath and skin care products, jewelry, baked goods, educational children’s books, candles, quilts and other items will highlight a spring craft fair sponsored by the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League.

The sale is from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 1, and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 2, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 1837 N. Mountain St.
