Carson City received a little more than 2 inches of snow as of 10 a.m. Monday as a storm brought winter back into people’s minds.
A day after the temperature was in the 60s, Carson City’s high was in the mid-30s.
In Reno-Sparks the snow fell at a rate of about one inch per hour leaving more than 8 inches in some places.
Snowfall ranged from 12 inches north of Spanish Springs and 11 inches in northeast Sparks, to about 8 inches in Reno and 7 inches in Fernley, the weather service said. Less snow was reported at Lake Tahoe, with about 3 inches at lake level in Incline Village.
The National Weather Service in Reno said Carson City received 2 inches by 10 a.m., while other areas received up to 3 inches.
