The Carson Futbol Club U-16 Pumas Elite have won their last two tournaments in impressive fashion, outscoring opponents 43-4.

On April 2-3, the local squad won the Sagebrush Spring Startup in Reno by going 4-0. The Pumas edged Carson FC Galaxy, 3-2, in the championship game. The squad outscored opponents 25-3. On April 23-24, the Pumas Elite outscored opponents 18-1 en route to the championship.

Members of the team are Javier Vega, Angel Gonzalez, Guillermo Hernandez, Milton Rubio, Guillermo Perez-Morris, Brandon Estrada, Ernesto Lamas, Isael Lopez, Alejandro Gonzalez, Roger Herrera, Chistian Martinez, Danny Manzo, Ronniel Elliott, Julio Loera, Efren Ramirez, Raul Lopez, Adrian Torres and Lex Merrifield. The team is coached by Frank Martinez and Raul Rubio.

Spencer, Silsby tie for top spot

Charles Spencer and Jim Silsby shot net 66s to tie for the Flight 1 title at the Silver Oak Men’s Club recent event on April 24.

Kevin Johnson and Kevin Silsby each shot 68 to tie for third, while Wes Camp, Adam Koehm, Eric Fujita and Larry Johnson tied for fifth at 70.

In Flight 2, Jay Wiggins triumphed with a net 61, Robert Martin was second with a 63, Steven Sturm shot 64, Shawn Akers 65 and Ben Bohm 69.

Swann grabs top Empire Ranch flight

Geoff Swann shot a net 63 to win Flight A at the recent Empire Ranch Senior Men’s Club by three shots over Bob Pemberton, Steve Scharfe and John Masiello.

Rich Bremenour won Flight B with a 68. Also shooting 68 were Mala Chizek, Joe Stuart and John Sullivan. Martin Johnson won C Flight with a 65, one shot better than Dennis Small and two better than Jack Mederious and Bobby Watson. Ralph Bothe won Flight D with a 65, two better than Clark Reid and three ahead of Tom Harlow and Chris Nenzel.

Steve Isaacson, Pemberton, Gary Dalen and Paul Weller won closest to the hole.

Crowell wins at Thunder Canyon

Leanne Crowell shot a net 67 to edge Cheryl Burke by two shots at the recent Thunder Canyon Women’s Club event.

Jennifer Clements was third with a 70 followed by Patricia Hiatt (71) and Mary Anderson (72).

Campbell wins again at Dayton Valley

Janice Campbell shot a 35 to win Flight 1 at Dayton Valley Women’s Club Add’em Up last week. Carol Colwell was first net at 32.

Bev Saunders won low gross for Flight 2 with a 43, while Kathy Ellis shot 34 to win low net. In Flight 3, Diane Murray won low gross with a 45, while Laura Hunt took low net with a 36. Suzanne Mohr won low gross in Flight 4 with a 52 and Grace Yount took low net with a 36. Mary Harrison won low gross in Flight 5 with a 57 and Chris Bunnell won low net with a 34.

Delaparra wins at Eagle Valley

Tito Delaparra shot an even-par 72 to win Blue flight 1 low gross honors at the Eagle Valley Men’s Club tournament on May 1.

Conrad Burt was second with a 74 an Jason Krueger shot 77. Greg Whitt and Rick Green shared low net honors with a 73. Deke Monegan won Blue flight 2 honors with an 82, one shot better than Rich Dixon and two ahead of Bob Beveridge. Steve McIntyre had a 69 for low net while Bill Premo had a 70.

John Ponte won low net gross for White flight 1 with an 84, five shots better than Dana Whaley. Mark Rutledge and Richard Riggs shared low net honors with 70s. Dan Mosley shot 90 to win low gross honors in White flight 2. Dennis Justin was second with a 93. Dennis Williams won low net with a 69 and Rich Valdez had a 71.
