Lyon County officials had to clear hail off the roads in west Lyon County following today’s storm.
A storm cell is expected through Sunday night, bringing thunderstorms and precipitation to the area. The strongest storms are expected for today when the pressure is at its worst stability, but the rest of the week is expected to be mild and stormy, said National Weather Center Reno meteorologist Dustin Norman.
Carson residents may see anywhere from an inch to and inch and a half of accumulated precipitation by Sunday night, the Weather Services said Wednesday. Though some local streets may flood due to poor drainage with the heavy rain, no flooding is expected.
The temperatures will be in the high 60s, low 70s Thursday and Friday and stay in the mid to low 60s throughout the weekend. A high pressure system is expected to come through next week and warm up the region.
The weather forced the delay of Western Nevada College baseball’s game against College of Southern Nevada in the bottom of the 5th inning. The score was tied at 2. The two teams will pick up the game Friday morning at 10 a.m.
As of now, Carson High’s baseball game against Douglas is still on. Start time is now scheduled for 5 p.m.
