Steve Rose earns CFP designation

Steve Rose, partner and lead adviser at Abowd and Rose Financial, has been authorized by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards to use the Certified Financial Planner and CFP certification marks in accordance with CFP Board certification requirements.

The CFP mark identifies individuals who have met the rigorous experience and ethical requirements of the CFP Board, successfully completed financial planning coursework and passed the CFP certification examination covering the financial planning process, risk management, investments, tax planning and management, retirement and employee benefits, and estate planning. CFP professionals also agree to meet ongoing continuing education requirements and to uphold CFP Board’s Code of Ethics and Professional Responsibility, Rules of Conduct and Financial Planning Practice Standards.

S&W Feed honored for excellence

KIOTI Tractor announced S&W Feed and Supply Inc. of Carson City received 5-Paw certification, one of 51 dealerships in North America to receive the annual honor.

The certification is part of the KIOTI 5-Paw Dealer Excellence Program, created to honor dealerships who deliver outstanding overall performance.

Each year KIOTI dealers are evaluated against stringent qualifications in regards to service, sales, operations and parts. Dealers who meet or exceed these qualifications are named KIOTI 5-Paw Dealers. They earn the ability to display KIOTI’s exclusive 5-Paw logo at their dealership.

Local real estate agent earns certification

Jill Larson with RCM Realty Group has been awarded the nationally recognized Military Relocation Professional Certification, which the National Association of Realtors awards to realtors who help military personnel, veterans and their families find housing that lets them make the best use of their benefits and serves the unique needs of military life.

Realtors who earn this certification know to work with active duty military buyers and sellers, as well as veterans. The certification provides NAR’s members with resources to accommodate current and former military service members at any stage of their military career and is an approved elective for NAR’s Accredited Buyers Representative designation. To earn the MRP certification, Realtors must be in good standing with NAR; complete the MRP Certification Core Course; complete a reading providing background information on the military, included acronyms and understanding military culture; and complete two webinars.

Nurses with Carson Tahoe honored

Carson Tahoe Health congratulates its 2016 Northern Nevada Nurses of Achievement (NNNOA) winners and honorees, who were honored May 6 for their contributions to patients and the nursing profession.

Fourty-six Carson Tahoe Health nurses were nominees, and four nurses received NNNOA awards.

The Carson Tahoe nurses were awarded in four categories. Carson Tahoe Nurse of the Year was awarded to Alysha Chiasson, Intensive Care Unit; NNNOA in Emergency Nursing was awarded to Jennifer Robison-Simas, Emergency Department; NNNOA in Long-Term Care/Rehabilitation was given to Caleah Hindman, Long-term Acute Care; and NNNOA in Maternal Child went to Jennifer Digangi, Bereavement Nurse.

Dutch Bros raises money for ALS research

Friday, May 6, marked Dutch Bros’ annual Drink One for Dane day, when the coffeehouse raised $758,500 for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA).

All 263 Dutch Bros. locations in seven states donated proceeds from their day’s sales to MDA in support of ALS research and family services. This record breaking year surpassed last year’s donation by nearly 50 percent — bringing the company’s total donation over the past 10 years to more than $2.53 million. Funds will benefit MDA in hopes of finding a cause and a cure for ALS.
