Empire Ranch has slated weekly junior golf clinics starting June 7.

The clinics are open to boys and girls from 5 to 16. The clinics are held every Tuesday or Wednesday from 3:30 to 5 p.m.

The cost is $125 per month.

Bill Allen and Wade Walker shot a net 58 to win Flight A in the 2-man scramble for the Empire Ranch Senior Men’s Club. The event was played at Wolf Run.

Gary Dalen and Gene Gaston shot 59 and Dave Morris and Henry Teague shot 60.

In Flight B, John Masiello and Nick Paul won with a 53, one shot better than Terry Thomas and Tony Barbaria and three ahead of Bob Zeisloft and Dennis Joseph. George Flamer and Dick Montoya won Flight C with a 58, one ahead of Mike Logue and Ray McPartlin, Tom Sawyer and Marshall McCurdy and Dahl Rask and Rich Bremenour. Charles Bell and Bob Blom won Flight C with a 54, one up on Skip Yokota and three up on Al Giannotti and Greg Bentley.

Dale Guy, Allen, Wes Franklin and Phil King were closest to the hole winners.

Genoa hosting Skins game

The Genoa Lakes U.S. Open Qualifier Skins Game is set for today at 2 p.m. at the Lakes course.

There are two flights — gross skins from the gold tees and net skins from the blue tees. You must have an established handicap to play.

The cost is $40 for social members and $50 for non-members.

Pillsbury, Morris tie at Carson Valley

Jeff Schreiber collected four skins and Jim Pillsbury and David Morris picked up two skins apiece in Group A at the recent Carson Valley Men’s Club event.

In Group B, Bruce Sanford had five skins while Gerry Bing had three. Ken Smitreski and Schreiber were closest to the hole winners.

Campbell wins at Dayton Valley

Janice Campbell shot a 3-over-par 75 to win low gross in Flight 1 at the recent Dayton Valley Women’s Club tournament on May 3.

Kitty Collins won low net in Flight 1 with a 70. Evie Dean (87), Cathy Kulm (106), MV Gentry (113) and Karen Ferreira (118) won low gross in flights two through five, Kathy Ellis (67), Jeanne Dotson (78), Jean Ely (77) and Judy Clark (74) won low net in flights two through five,

3 teams tie at Thunder Canyon

The teams of Buz Allen and Bill Eng, Butch Cattanach and Carl Baker, and Riley Beckett and Mike Schellin tied for first with 62 at Thunder Canyon’s Men’s Club event on May 12.

Steve McKnight and Duane Loridge were fourth at 63 while Max Gundlach and Ryan Smith tied for fifth at 65 with Michael McGee and Leland Sullivan.

Saints continue to romp foes

The Sains improved to 6-0 overall with three more wins in Carson City NFL Youth flag football action at Fremont Elementary.

The Saints topped the 49ers, 52-30, the Seahawks, 64-36 and the Packers, 41-20. The Packers beat the Seahawks, 40-12 and lost to the 49ers, 48-20. The 49ers beat the Seahawks 43-34.

Alex Myrehn had nine TDs for the Saints, while Zach Guthrie had five TD passes and Parker Story scored five TDs. Javier Arellano had four scores.

The 49ers, 3-3, were led by Connor Baker with five scores and Isiah Urbina had three. Braden Rice had eight “flag pulls.”

The Packers, 3-3, got five TD passes from Liam Kordonoway and three TDs from Brandon Escobar and Jose Gallegos. Murphy Seljestad had eight “flag pulls.”

The winless Seahawks got nine scores from Bryce Lehman. Asher Kiehl had eight “flag pulls” and Tanner Jergeson had seven.
