Toni Hills passed away on December 15, 2015 following a long illness. Toni is survived by her husband, Lawrence (Larry) Hills. She is also survived by 4 children, Nancy Jolly (Scott), Dale Shepley, Jon Shepley, and Karen Shepley. Toni’s daughter Linda Shepley predeceased her in 1979. She is also survived by 3 grandchildren, Michelle Allred (Damion), Elyse Jolly (Jason Tietje) and Matthew Shepley as well as 1 great grandson, Mason Sky Allred. She is also survived by her 4 siblings, Susan Hills, Patrick Shane, Michael Shane and Catherine Nordby. Toni graduated from Reno High School in January, 1954. She married Lyle Mason Shepley on January 17, 1954 and started a family. Their first child was born in March, 1955 and the fifth child was born in January, 1963. This won her an award at her 10 year class reunion for “Having the Most Kids”. Toni started a lifetime insurance career with Cornwall Insurance Adjusters in 1957. She then had a short stint with Nevada Industrial Commission before joining Associated Brokers. She then worked for Universe Life, but her heart was with commercial and personal lines insurance so she headed back to Associated Brokers. In 1974 she and Mason started Stagecoach Realty and Insurance which was later re-named Allied Agencies. Allied Agencies was eventually sold to Alpine Insurance Agency and Toni moved to Salt Lake City to continue her insurance career. After 10 years in Salt Lake City she moved to Las Vegas and continued her insurance career. She worked another 15 years in Las Vegas with her husband Larry in their insurance agency, Silver State Brokers. Toni was very active in the Insurance Women of Reno and the National Association of Insurance Women where she earned her Certified Professional Insurance Woman (CPIW) designation. When she retired she moved back home to Northern Nevada settling in Dayton. While retired, she worked at the Dayton Intermediate School. She always said the kids at the school were her “happy pill”. She had a mutually adoring relationship with the kids at Dayton Intermediate School.
