Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, sidekick, buddy and best friend went to be with our Lord on April 30, 2016, from the complications of lung cancer. He attended Bellflower High School and then Cal State University, Long Beach where he achieved a BS degree in electrical engineering. He was employed with Hughes Aircraft for 30+ years and designed computer boards for missile weaponry. After retiring from Hughes he moved to Mammoth Lakes, CA in 2000, where skiing and snowboarding became his passion. He was fondly known as “The Mayor” on the mountain. In 2003, Jim and his wife Suzanne were married at the Paradise Lodge in the Owens Valley and resided in Paradise for 7 years before moving to Dayton, NV in 2010.
Besides his love of snow sports, Jim also enjoyed surfing, baseball, and softball and was an avid golfer at Dayton Valley Golf Club in Dayton, NV. He also enjoyed being a Marshal there. Regarding football, there was never a more passionate fan of the Minnesota Vikings than Jim. Among his other accomplishments, he was a published author of the book, “The Assignment”, a mystery novel. He recently wrote and directed a melodrama for the Misfits Theater Group in Dayton, NV. He has performed in many plays with that group. Jim was all about making people happy and showing them unconditional love. He was a warm compassionate man who always had a kind word for others and had an optimistic attitude for life. His heart was always with the Lord and his marriage to Suzanne was founded on that. There will be a Celebration of Life for Jim on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at 1:00 PM in Dayton, NV at the Dayton Valley Country Club. Please come share the joy that was Jim.
