Jim Moran, 89, died May10, 2016 at the VA Hospital in Reno, NV. He was born Sept 25, 1926 in Sawtell (Los Angeles) CA to William and Violet Moran. Jim served in WWII on the medical ship USS Mercy in the Asiatic Pacific Theater.
He was an avid gardener, bowler, antiques dealer and a life long rock hound. He managed the lapidary shop in the CC Senior Center for several years. Jim loved learning new things and forgot very little he ever learned. He had an amazing memory, and told great stories of places, people and experiences from his life. Jim was preceded in death by his loving wife, Alice Elizabeth “Betty” Moran, siblings Mary Almroth and Billy Moran. He is survived by daughter Karen (Steven) Novikoff, Alice’s daughters Susan (Tom) Petrique, Linda (Walter) Hogue, and seven grandchildren, Shannon, Stephanie, Marcy, Amy, Stacy, John and Glen. Also survived by his close friends, Dave and Pat Fox, and many other friends in the Carson City area. No Services will be held
