Severs thumb: Will U. Mackey was chopping kindling wood when the instrument slipped and struck his left hand nearly severing the thumb. Doctor Lee was summoned, and he dressed the wound, taking four stitches. It is probable that Mr. Mackey will experience some trouble in playing “Simon says thumbs up” because this thumb will persist in staying down.
