Ethel B. Eaton, age 95 years and four months, from Virginia City, Nevada, peacefully entered heaven on November 1, 2016, surrounded by family and friends, after casting her absentee ballot.
Ethel was born on July 9, 1921, in Hayward, California, to Olaf Busk and Abbie Crowley Busk. She married Russell F. Brandon in 1942, in Reno, Nevada.
As a young woman, Ethel worked as a representative for Tupperware in the 1950’s, and as a Western States Manager for Sara Coventry Jewelry during the 1960’s and 1970’s.
Ethel married William Eaton of Port Townsend, WA, in 1973, where they owned and operated the James House Bed and Breakfast. In 1978 Ethel and Bill moved to Virginia City, Nevada, where they remodeled two homes and operated the Peach House Antiques from the mid-1990’s until the present.
Ethel was preceded in death by her husband, Russell F. Brandon, sister, Beulah McQuarrie, brothers, Alman, David, and Peter Busk, second husband William Eaton, and grandson, Russell W. Brandon.
She is survived by sister, Faith Ward, sons Russell (Pamela), Alman (Norma), and Michael Brandon and step-son Dennis Eaton. She is also survived by grandchildren, Joseph Brandon, Ryan Brandon, Megan Brandon, Shawna Snyder, Bridget Thompson, Sakura Brandon, Hana Brandon and nine great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Senior Center in Virginia City, Nevada, on December 10, 2016, at 1:00 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Ethel’s memory be made to the Storey County Fire Department or the Storey County Senior Center.
