RENO — Reno police were investigating the death of a third pedestrian struck in the past week by a vehicle while crossing a street on the edge of downtown.
Police say 28-year-old Andrea Whalen of Reno died when she was hit in a marked crosswalk at Sixth and Lake streets about 6 p.m. Wednesday.
Neither drugs nor alcohol appear to have been a factor in the crash, police said.
It followed the death Tuesday of 31-year-old Joseph Lopez of Dayton in a hit-and-run. He was struck by two vehicles at the corner of Fourth and Washington streets.
The driver of one car is cooperating with investigators. Police said Thursday they were seeking the public’s help in finding the other car — a smoky grey, older two-door coupe with hazy headlights.
