Local clergy on hand at Interfaith Thanksgiving service in Carson City

An Interfaith Thanksgiving service at historic St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Carson City on Nov. 22 included discourses and prayers by area Christian, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist and Jewish leaders. Participants included Very Reverend Jeffrey Paul, St. Peter’s Episcopal Church Rector; JJ Tuttle, Connected Nazarene Church Lead Pastor; TJ Saputra of the Muslim community; Hindu statesman Rajan Zed; Buddhist Anne Macquarie; Evon J. Yakar, Rabbi at Temple Bat Yam in South Lake Tahoe. The theme of the Service was “There is always something to be thankful for.” Zed, who is president of Universal Society of Hinduism, read Gayatri Mantra, considered most sacred mantra in Hinduism, in Sanskrit and the audience repeated after him.
