The Popcorn Stand: I could go for a dog-eat-peanut butter world

Those who choose to read this Popcorn Stand know how much I love dogs and peanut butter, so I couldn’t resist this video at Huffington Post — http://tinyurl.com/zue7oll — of a dog with human hands eating peanut butter and doing it the best way — eating peanut butter right out of the jar.

Of course the dog doesn’t actually have human hands, someone under the hoody is feeding the dog and makes it appear the dog is feeding herself with peanut butter out of a jar with her own human hands.

Peanut butter is a common treat for dogs and it’s certainly a treat I love to give to my dogs, Pete and Tuf-Tuf (you know Sir Tuffington something or other). I have to admit even though the dogs love peanut butter the only reason why I give Pete and Tuf-Tuf peanut butter is it’s hilarious to watch them try to lick the peanut butter with their tongues in their mouths.

Note, though, there are now some peanut butter products that are using a sweetener called Xylitol and this could actually be potentially deadly for dogs.

But creamy peanut butter without Xylitol in small doses to prevent choking is fine for dogs and small doses are always all I need to get a good laugh from my dogs.

The cute pit bull in that video, Opal, has a good technique as she sticks her tongue out of her mouth to lick the spoon before the peanut butter gets stuck to her mouth, something I hope my dogs never learn.

By the way, Opal is up for adoption through New Jersey group FernDog Rescue Foundation.

Of course we all know there’s something soothing about dogs and peanut butter and in 2016 I think we need dogs and peanut butter more than ever.

As for me, I could go for a dog-eat-peanut butter world.
