On behalf of the Carson City and Sierra Nevada Kiwanis Clubs, we would like to thank all of you who made the Sept. 17 Carson River clean-up a huge success.
This year we again had tremendous participation and support from the Carson High School NJROTC, the Carson City and Sierra Nevada Kiwanis Clubs, the Carson High Key Club, the White Trash Brigade, the Nevada Appeal, Carson City Parks, Recreation and Open Space Program and the individuals and families who came out to lend a hand.
We also want to thank the following who generously contributed to the event: the Carson Water Sub-Conservancy District, River Wranglers, Carson City’s Les Schwab Tire Centers, Bibee & Associates Insurance, Waste Management and Douglas High School’s graphic arts department.
When the Carson City Kiwanis Club started this event in 1990, some naively thought it would be accomplished in a couple years. Now 27 years later there is still work to be done! It is great to see folks who come to the Carson River clean-up who recognize that with great opportunity comes responsibility to be caretakers of the natural places we all enjoy. Thanks again.
