Row — Man — Cut: Two men, Miller and Martin, got into a row yesterday at Frisbie’s lower Saloon; about politics. Martin (not Charley) cut Miller (not Morg) about the head with a pocketknife, inflicting some slight wounds. We guess there was some whiskey mixed up with their politics.

The turning of the Mint into an assay office is the death knell for the next four years at least, when a change of administration will open its doors so that it will coin silver dollars out of bullion dug from Nevada soil.

The first meeting of Carson City’s group of Alcoholics Anonymous will be held Friday at 8 p.m. at 105 Mountain Ave., with local members and representatives from the Reno group attending. Carson City’s headquarters may be contacted by writing post office box 173, Carson City.

“Wild” Bill Sullivan won the Nevada Appeal Fast Time Trophy last Saturday night with a 15.66 time in the stock car main event. Terry Nash of Salt Lake City, sponsored by the Carson Mall, captured the 50 lap super main event of the second annual Silver State Classic at the Carson Tahoe Speedway Saturday night.

Attorney General Brian McKay ordered his staff Thursday to ask for a quick federal court judgment in favor of Nevada’s lawsuit to raise the speed limit from 55 mph to 70 mph.
