The State Library: The Secretary of State, Hon. C.N. Noteware, has caused the State Library rooms to be enlarged to double their recent size by enclosing with the old apartment the room recently occupied by the Supreme Judges. This enlargement is made for obvious reasons ... the library has been increased by some 800 volumes.

When you hear a man vociferously denouncing W.M. Stewart as a carpet bagger set that man down at once as a tenderfoot. In the old times when Nevada was a territory and struggling to be admitted into the sisterhood of States, when the pioneers were wrestling with the rocks of Washoe and the rebel element was striving for supremacy, William Stewart was here helping lay the foundation of the State and fighting the men who were trying to pull them down.

Through the courtesy of Gov. And Mrs. Vail Pittman, the executive mansion in Carson City will be open for inspection from 2 until 3 p.m. On Nevada Day. At that time the mansion is expected to be viewed by many Nevadans and out of state visitors who will gather in the state’s capital to celebrate its 82nd birthday.

Maverick Cave Rock hamburger stand owner Manny Beals remained in Minden jail today following his extradition from South Lake Tahoe on a failure to appear warrant. The altercation followed a judge’s order to take down garish signs at his property near Cave Rock.
