Report Card:

RENO 34, CARSON 17

Offense: The unit didn’t get a first down until the first half was nearly over. The offensive line couldn’t handle Reno’ quickness and athleticism which made Abel Carter have to work really hard to get 135 yards. Carter ran hard the second half. Reno sacked Jace Keema twice and the senior QB had to run for his life several other times.

Defense: Carson’s defense faced some impossible field-position situation thanks to three punts and an interception. The longest drive it gave up was 69 yards, and 58 of that was on Brandon Kaho’s TD run. Yo can’t give a team like Reno outstanding field position because the Huskies are going to make you pay for it. Carter had a fumble recovery in the first quarter.

Special teams: Not a good night. Brandon Gagnon was having some mechanic issues which led to short kicks and ensuing points. Even Reno had some issues kicking into the wind. Johnny Barahona made his only field goal try. Jesse Case had a blocked punt, leading to a score.
