This year’s 23rd annual Luau at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Nevada boasts a first in venue and improved technology for an insider’s view of the Clubs. Tickets are still available for the event from 2-7 p.m. Sunday.
The event is one of the Clubs’ premier fundraisers for both the Carson Valley and Carson City locations for the year, and includes an all-you-can-eat dinner, entertainment and both live and silent auctions.
“For the first time in the Luau’s 22-year history, the event will be held on the Club’s campus, with live auction and dinner served in the city’s adjacent Multi-Use Athletic Center,” Katie Leao, chief professional officer for Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Nevada, said. “Entertainment and our annual silent auction will take place throughout the Club and our new William N. Pennington Teen Center.”
This year, the popular silent auction features mobile bidding with improved technology, which, Leao said, breaks up the usual gridlock over the typical clipboards placed in front of silent auction items.
“Luau guests can register on the Club’s website to bid on over 180 entertainment and merchandise packages, including a wine tasting evening, golf outings, a hand-built wooden kayak and many others,” she said. “This year’s auction is the largest assortment of experience-based packages in Club history.”
Advanced registration for mobile bidding is now available and tickets may be purchased at www.luau.bgcwn.net, or call the Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Nevada at (775) 882-8820. For more information about the Club and their programs, visit www.bgcwn.org.
