Regrettable incident: Last night at the theatre during the presentation of Magda, a small boy amused himself by flipping shot, from a sling, upon the stage. Two missals struck Miss Harper, the actress on stage, inflicting painful, but slight injuries and insult. It was simply the act of a thoughtless youth. Boys who cannot appreciate a play, should stay away.

Photo caption, Charles Russell: In these political times all eyes in the Charles Russell family turn to the 20-month old twins, Craig and David, sons of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Russell of Ely, Nevada. Russell was attending the senate as representative of White Pine County. He is holding four year old daughter Gena while son, Clark keeps his eye on the piano. Mrs. Russell is the former daughter of Judge Clark J. Guild of Carson City.

A&W Drive-in closes: The 50’s style A&W drive-in restaurant at 10th and Carson street will close Oct. 5 when owner Pete Livermore closes the doors. “It is the end of an era,” said Livermore. “This A&W was built in June of 1960. It is the oldest continuously operating carhop in the state of Nevada ...”
