Nevada’s birthday celebration is about a month away and the parade is seeking volunteers for parade marshals, store clerks, information boothers, and people to help set up and tear down equipment.
Volunteers will receive breakfast and lunch on the day of the parade, a commemorative hat, and an invitation to the Annual Appreciation Dinner Recognition.
Parade Marshals participate in the organization and flow of parade entries along with assistance with crowd control and traffic management along the parade route. The goal is to have at least four parade marshals assigned to each division.
Volunteers must wear warm clothes and be a minimum of 18 years old. Reporting time is 6 a.m. Oct. 29, the day of the event. Responsibilities last until 3 p.m. depending on assigned division in the parade line-up. Parade marshals are required to attend a mandatory training session.
More volunteering opportunities are open for the Beard Contest and Rock Drilling Competition.
