Senators top DeAnza
EL SOBRANTE, Calif. — The Senators scored five runs in the first two innings, and made those early outbursts hold up for a 9-6 nonleague win over DeAnza on Saturday morning.

After Carter stole second, Jace Keema grounded out and Trevor Edis scored Carter with a single. Carson tacked on three more in the second, with Carter picking up an RBI single. After scoring one in the third, DeAnza cut the deficit o 6-4 with four in the bottom of the fourth. Carson scored twice in the fifth and once in the seventh.

“Today was good,” Carson coach Bryan Manoukian said. “We got a win and we got almost everybody on the team in. It was a real team effort. The trip showed that we can play with really good teams and put ourselves in a position to win. It also showed us that we need to focus more against lesser teams and average pitching so we do not lose to teams that we are better than.
“We did a much better job of that today than yesterday and came away with a much needed win.”
Carson hosts Hug on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
