Robert Uhel Johnston of Fallon, Nevada passed away on Friday, July 28, 2017 at Fernley Estates in Fernley, Nevada.


Robert (Bob) was born May 19, 1929 in Roy, New Mexico. He graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno with a degree in Agricultural Science. He taught Ag Science at CCHS for 25 years and was the FFA advisor as well. During that time, he assisted many of his students in attaining the distinction of American Farmer. He was also a long time 4H Sheep Club leader and raised some of the highest quality Suffolk sheep in the state for many years. Upon retirement, he was very active in Senior Citizen Rights and was a well-known lobbyist during legislative sessions striving to improve and protect the rights of all Nevada Seniors.


Bob lived in Fallon for over 50 years and was actively dedicated to Churchill County and the community of Fallon. Bob was a long time supporter and leader in the Churchill County Democratic party. Bob was a member of the Epworth United Methodist Church.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Maude Johnston, and all eight of his siblings.


Bob is survived by his wife, Gaye, of Fallon; his three children, Robby Johnston of Fallon, Dani Dalton of Clover Valley, NV, and Ella Johnston-Leger of China, Texas; his six grandchildren, Loni Faught of Fallon, Lacy Larson of Levi, Utah, Terrin Hicks of Fernley, Jake Johnston of Fallon, and Jay and Cameron Dalton of Clover Valley, NV. He also found much joy in the newest generation of his family with 8 great-grandchildren. Bob is also survived by many other loving family members and friends in New Mexico as well as Nevada.


A Celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at 1:00 PM at the Methodist Church 280 Stillwater Avenue, Fallon, Nevada.
