Glennis Wesley McCrary, 69, of Carson City passed from this life August, 2, 2017 after a brief battle with cancer.


Glennis was born August 31,1947 in Muskogee, Oklahoma where he was known for his athletic prowess. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Marine Corps and retired from Nevada Department of Transportation after 32 years.


An avid outdoorsman, Glennis loved fishing, hunting and sports. He was a member of the Marine Corps League and the American Legion. For many years, he coached area youth in football and basketball, but his first love was his family. He was the proud father of Melissa Meechan (Jason) of Farmington, New Mexico, and truly loved being grandfather to Christina and Jared.


He was preceded in death by his parents Katherine Grigsby and Lawrence Lee Wright.


He is survived by his daughter and her family; sister Mary Holloway, and nieces Calondra Holloway and Candiace Holly (John), all of Oklahoma City; sisters Barbara McCrary-Bazzle (William) and Sandra Levels, and brothers Stanley McCrary, Gerry McCrary (Kathy) and Terry McCrary (Paula) all of Kansas City, Missouri; and numerous other nephews, nieces and cousins.
