Fire personnel were constructing a hand line and working on perimeter control of a 150-acre wildfire burning near the Storey and Lyon county line Friday evening.
The fire was first reported at 11:04 a.m. Friday. Local, state and federal crews responded to keep the fire from spreading toward structures. As of 7 p.m., Sierra Front Interagency Dispatch said no structures were threatened. Officials said residents nearby had been notified.
The fire was burning brush, grass and pinion-juniper of steep slopes. About 150 personnel, 18 engines, four hand crews, two helicopters, four air tankers, one dozer and four water tenders were fighting the fire.
The Lyon County Road Department closed Six Mile Canyon Road at the Storey County line.
