Duncan Golf Management to operate Eagle Valley Golf Course in Carson City starting Monday

Just one day after the Carson City Board of Supervisors selected Duncan Golf Management to operate the Eagle Valley Golf Course, the city announced Friday DGM will begin operations on Monday.

In a press release released late Friday, the city says, “while the original intent was for DGM to assume management in early 2018, Carson City is proud to announce that Duncan Golf Management will begin operating Eagle Valley Golf Course on Monday weeks ahead of schedule.

“We are truly excited about this public-private partnership and what it will mean for the future of golf in Carson City. Eagle Valley Golf Course provides valuable recreation opportunities for the community and this partnership will enable that to continue,” said Nick Marano, city manager.

The proposed terms of the agreement reached on Thursday call for Duncan Golf to make an annual investment of $90,000 in new equipment that would be owned by the city.

Duncan Golf would lease the land from the city and keep revenue from course-related activities.

After three years, Duncan will contribute 10 percent of the course’s net operating income to a capital improvement fund that the city and the operator will confer and agree on how to spend.

The course, which consists of two, 18-hole courses, was created for and is key to the city’s water reuse plan.

The course receives about 816 acre feet of effluent annually, or about 25 percent of effluent the city produces.

DGM will operate Eagle Valley Golf Course, 3999 Centennial Park Drive, form 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. seven days a week.
