Love/Sick to play final weekend in Carson City

A funny and heartfelt performance detailing the triumphs and troubles of love is playing for a final weekend in Carson City.

The Brewery Arts Center is continuing its 40-year partnership with Proscenium Players, Inc., as it presents Love/Sick, a romantic comedy with tragic elements showcasing the roller coaster of love.

Directed by Fritz Schlottman and Jennifer Lynn and produced by Dick Van Buskirk, the play will unfold in nine scenes detailing love from first sight, marriage and self-discovery.

The story, by playwright John Cariani, is made up of a collection of nine slightly twisted and hilarious short plays.

“Full of imperfect lovers and dreamers, from a couple that is obsessively impulsive to a bride with literally cold feet, to a man who had a very ... exciting lunch, to a couple who forgot to have a baby, Love/Sick is an unromantic comedy for the romantic in everyone,” said a BAC press release.

Performances will be at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday in the BAC’s Maizie Harris Jesse Black Box Theater.

Advanced tickets are $13 for BAC members, $15 for seniors/students and $18 for general admission.
