April 22, 1953 ~ December 15, 2017
Linda Lee Arvidson passed away December 15th while in Comfort Care at Carson Tahoe Hospital.
She was born April 22, 1953 and grew up in the San Fernando Valley. Due to her petite size (4’8”, 75 pounds) and fearless nature, she worked later in the film industry as a stunt double for child actors. Among the movies where you find Linda’s name in the credits for “stunt players” are, “Free Willy’ and “ The Last Boy Scout,” among many others. Along with her tiny stature she was blessed with the ability to be cute and beautiful at the same time… awesome! Drew Barrymore was Linda’s good friend during her stint in Hollywood. The effects of injuries (concussions and others) caused Linda’s retirement from stunt work in 1991.
It was a few years later that Linda met Jon who would become her sweetheart, then best friend (during 2 years of health issues and hospital stays) and finally, during her last years, caregiver as well.
Linda was predeceased by her mother Jean and is survived by her sisters Nancy Kelly and Lori Hitchcock, her children Chad and Sara Shultz and best buddy Jon McCarty.
Linda and Jon may be remembered by some who may have known them as camp hosts at June Lake (Oh! Ridge), Honeymoon Flat (Twin Lakes) and Leavitt Meadows (Sonora Pass).
Nancy and Jon would like to express our gratitude and thanks to Linda T and Angel Daniels and the other home care nurses from Kindred (Gentiva) who made Linda’s last years so much easier for us who loved her.
